When you pass this bed, take time to pinch and smell the lavender (Lavendula), pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium), assorted scented geraniums (Pelargonium), patchouli (Pogostemmon cablin), and pineapple sage (Salvia elegans). Fixatives are substances added to potpourri and perfume to make the scent more permanent, such as oakmoss, orris root, calamus root, certain oils and resins.
