A Knot Garden, at the center
of the Herb Garden as is traditional, contains a statue of St. Fiacre
(fee-a-kur), the patron saint of gardeners. Four overlapping circles
with contrasting plants such as germander (Teucrium chamaedrys), sage
(Salvia officinalis), and Dwarf False Cypress form the bed.
At the four corners of the
Knot Garden, again based on tradition, you will find the Culinary,
Medicinal, Dye, and
Fragrance Beds. |
