Let's Have Tea II

The Huntsville Herb Society hosted an educational and entertaining full afternoon tea with gourmet food catered by Cyn Shea.  The tea tables were decorated in various themes by Herb Society members.

The program featured presentations from Calera McHenry of CalMac Nursery who spoke on "Herbs: Selecting and Growing for Success."  Cyn Shea-Hart of Cyn Shea's spoke on "Preparing Herb Foods," and Janet Green of Sleepy Owl Herb Farm spoke on "Dried Herb Wreaths."  Guided tours of the herb garden followed the tea.

The tea menu catered by Cun Shea's featured an open face cucumber sandwiches with a hint of fresh lemon twists,  Cyn Shea's fruited chicken salad in tiny edible pastries with almonds, grapes and celery, homemade crispy puff pastry miniature herb quiches of delicate bites with 17 herbs, puff pastry straws baked with fresh parmesan cheese, lemon squares, chocolate mint brownies, white chocolate tarragon truffles and mini blueberry scones with jam and Devon cream.
